The operating principle of the SGOES gas detector is defined as an IR optical absorptive type sensor. The SGOES does nol need the presence of oxygen during its operation and can thereby work in environments other sensor technologies cannot. In addition it has no sensitivity to oxygen, nitrogen, carbonic acid, ammonia, and hydrogen sulphide present in the environment. Gas concentration overloads of up to 100% LEL are not delrimenlallo the SGOES's operation.

The intrinsically safe design of the SGOES matches up well to the dangerously explosive areas of indoor & outdoor oil & gas facilities, pumping stations including refineries, tank farms, pipelines, loading racks. Etc. and any other location or site regulated by IEC 60079-14-96, which regulates electrical equipment application in explosive zones. Commonly SGOES Gas Detectors are implemented in application as an unmanned warning system and also as self contained gas analyzers of burning gases and vapors.

SGOES Gas Detectors are designed for operation at temperature -40F to 185F (-40°C to +85°C) and relative humidity up to 95% at temperature +95F (+35°C).
